Resident Services Programs

SHA is committed to assisting residents and offering a wide variety of supportive services throughout your residency. Residents are encouraged to contact our Resident Services Department to help identify, locate, and receive referrals for any resources you may need. Through collaborative relationships with local and state organizations including Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services, the Council on Aging, and the Somerville Community Corporation, Resident Services staff are prepared to connect you with resources that are the best fit for you or your family. Resident Service Coordination

Resident Service Coordinators connect residents with various resources and services to enhance their well-being and quality of life. This coordination often includes linking residents with social services, healthcare, educational programs, and community engagement opportunities.

  • Brady Towers, Capen Court, Ciampa Manor, Hagan Manor, Highland Gardens, Properzi Manor, Waterworks, Waterworks II, and Weston Manor are served by Shannon Bennett, Director of Resident Services, 617-996-0927, ShannonB@sha-web.org, and Robert McWatters, Resident Services Assistant, 617-625-1152 x308, RobertM@sha-web.org. Shannon and Robert coordinate with local providers to present at informational events/coffee hours in each building.
  • Bryant Manor is served by Graciela Cordova (bilingual in English/Spanish), Resident Services Coordinator, 617-625-2800, GracielaC@sha-web.org.

State Self-Sufficiency Program (SSP):

The State Self-Sufficiency program (SSP) is a voluntary work-based program designed to assist families in becoming economically independent and self-sufficient. With the support of various local agencies, SSP combines focused case management, education, job training, and ongoing motivational support to aid the family in making positive changes in their lives.

Families who participate in the SSP Program have the opportunity to earn an escrow account and are assisted with employment counseling, transportation, education, skills training, homeownership counseling, childcare assistance, financial counseling, credit building and much more!

This program is available to any SHA residents who live in the Mystic River Development.

Federal Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS):

The Family Self-Sufficiency program is a voluntary work-based program designed to assist families in becoming economically independent and self-sufficient. This program is available to anyone with a Section 8 voucher through the Somerville Housing Authority, or any resident of the Mystic View development.
